Thinking Out Loud.

I’ve been pondering and, as I have a place to drop the question, I thought I would and see if I can get some feedback.

I’d like to see what I can do to help market and get more interest in the Entertainment Earth Affiliate Program. But I also want to avoid “selling” the program or using my blog and Twitter as places where I advertise for it.

Still, the blog and Twitter are both tools I use for the program and I want to make sure I’m utilize both of them as a way to make people aware of the program and offer hints for my current affiliates.

While I’ve spent a good half of my life in sales in one form or another, I’ve always hated being “sold to” or feeling like I’m “pitching” people. As I see it, I’d much rather figure out what people would find interesting about the program and then have it be something they actually feel they can get use and benefit from.

Which is where I need feedback.

In the end, I want to get people interested in the Entertainment Earth Affiliate Program and, if they feel it’s a benefit, become an affiliate.

Do I “remind” people about it maybe once a week? Do I just continue on as I have – which is just my doing my business and letting people find it on their own? What works? What doesn’t and what would you suggest?

Oh, for the record, I know I could read all the “How to…” posts out there and get all sorts of great “ideas”. But I prefer honest feedback, because those guys don’t have to read me. Know what I mean? ;-)

  1. Hello new friend type person! I could go on for pages replying to this but as you’ll hear me mention alot, I have alot to do. You should be ashamed for distracting me from my money making! … Eh, I sold a $125 wonder woman statue today I bought for like $8 last year, so I feel I can relax alittle…just for 5 minutes thou.

Anyways, you already know my wonderful sense of humor…and alittle about my toy store/blog. I also have a bachelor’s degree in marketing and work as a marketing consultant for RSVP Publications (huge direct mail firm), ontop of the occastional SEO contracting.

Not only is my resume impressive but the rest of me is pretty decent too! If you ever need someone to bounce ideas off of, well, i’ve been told i’m a very bouncy person! *LAUGH* Talk to you soon!

  2. I like the way you approached me through Twitter. The fact I own my own geek website, it was a no brainer to join the affiliate program. I suggest finding other fan-sites of the millions of fandoms out there and just letting them know about the program. It hasn’t benefited me yet, but I hope it will soon. I need some help regarding that btw.
