Considering the fact that I lost my ever loving mind when I realized there was a Hot Topic exclusive version the Supernatural Funko Castiel WITH WINGS, I figure I’d share the news.

Now only does such a thing exists, but they’re releasing a Charlie Bradbury as well!

The Castiel is sold out for now but here’s the link if you want to keep an eye out for it. As for Charlie, I didn’t find her in a Hot Topic search for “Charlie”, but I’m hoping she’ll be listed soon.

I admit. I have no self control and I hit eBay (Charlie search/Cas search)  to find them both. I bought those things so fast, it should be illegal. But my birthday’s coming up and I decided it’s a present.

My current squee level is 11. My cheeks hurt from smiling. My day is totally made.

I admit that I was late to the party on Supernatural. I’ve been aware of it since they were casting, but it took me until the 5th season to finally take the GeekBoy’s advice and start watching.

I am now a complete and utter convert and I love the show because it’s funny, smart, action packed, emotional, and geeky.

Which brings me to my question.

Dean has definitely become more geeky as the show has gone on, but I seem to recall that Sam used to be the geekier one and that Dean used to grief him about it a bit.

Am I right or do I need to go back and rewatch the first 2 seasons?

On a related note, I’m pretty sure that part of the growth of the geek side of SPN is the fact that the writers and producers figured out that they had a definite audience for those sorts of things. Using actresses like Felicia Day & Amada Tapping, actors like Mark Sheppard — they know who we like.

To be clear, all of the geekdom makes me love SPN all the more. The show has become one of my absolute faves ever.

I’m just curious about the growth of Dean’s nerd side and wanted to know what you guys thought.

I mean, ask yourself, would we have gotten a live action series based off a video game 10 years ago? And would it have had a real geek girl in it if we had?

Sometimes the future is more fun when you remember your past ;-)

p.s. Granted, this is coming from a woman who is reminded that Jane Russell used to have to wear a turtleneck to model the Playtex 18 Hour Bra whenever she sees a Victoria’s Secret ad. ::grin::
