I’m going on a writing hiatus — at least professionally — for now. I don’t know for how long. I don’t know what I’m going to do next but I do know it’s time to put a pin in this whole thing for now.

I’ll still be on social media (like you could ever shut me up) so look for me there and May The Force Be With You.

So, I’m back on the sparklepony.

I have 3 new reviews for The Magicians up and, while it may not be a ton of new work, I also managed to hurt my back in such a way that I walk canted to the left. My right hip is actually higher than my left. Fun!

In other news, I saw a screening of Captain Marvel (so keep an eye out for my review on that) and I watched the Lorena Bobbitt documentary which both hurt my heart and taught me some new things. The case went on in the background for me, so it was good to learn more and have a better understanding of the actual people involved.

The CMBYN project continues. In fact, I was listening to the audiobook on my way to the chiropractor today. (Fun fact: the appointment’s tomorrow. I goofed. So I get to do it again!)

There are days I question my life choices and then I have days where I feel so blessed to be able to do what I do. I guess that’s life, right?

For now, it’s time for me to go work on some work. Y’all play nice.

But I promised I’d write and HERE I AM.

The world has been a bit much, but I got to say things about The Magicians over at Hypable. Basically a nice little catch-up and preview of the new season. You can read it here if ya like.

I’m finally reading Sabaa Tahir’s Reaper At The Gates. I don’t know why it took so long I love her books so much. But I’m here now and that’s all that matters.

I’m 60 days into my CMBYN project or whatever it actually is. It shows no sign of stopping. To be honest, I don’t really even know how I got here but 60 days. Interesting.

We had a LOT of rain. I hope we get more. We need it.

I watched Suspiria and enjoyed it. I’ve found myself wondering how a female director would have handled it.

Y’all stay out of trouble. I’ll try and do the same.

I’ve become obsessed with SLOW TV on Netflix.

I’ve recently discovered a new category on Netflix called “SLOW TV” and it’s definitely one of those things I never knew I needed. Videos within this treasure trove of a genre include hours of a crackling fire, a boat ride, even a knitting championship. I’ve recently been taking a 7 hour trip on a train from Oslo to Bergen in Norway and find myself soothed by the clack of the train on the tracks as it traverses the Norwegian countryside. A check of YouTube shows a larger variety; a 10 hour night to Tokyo has definitely gotten my attention. If you’re stressed and need an easy way to unwind, may I suggest you check it out?

And I got a neat package from the folks at SYFY that sets me up nicely for Deadly Class.

Plus, I’ve become obsessed with Marie Kondo. So I’ll be amazed if I don’t end up knee deep in clothes while trying to tidy up sometime this week.

Granted, it’s only Monday. Who knows what sort of trouble I’ll get into. :-)

Y’know how life gets so hectic that you don’t even have time to talk about the stuff you enjoy talking about?

That’s me right now. I’m guessing it might be for a bit. The holidays and life at QMx are making me a workerbee to the max. Which is great. It just means my brain doesn’t get the same kind of meandering time.

Hopefully you won’t disappear while I’m away fighting the good fight ;-)

I’ve been quiet. I know. Mama had to have 3 stents put in and I got all distracted with being a worrywart in Palm Springs before, during and after the surgery. Then I got back and had to catch up with stuff. I bet you know how it is.
