The Real Women's Health Experts Speak Out (Cue Sarcasm) [Video]

If you've been paying attention at all to what's going on legislatively, then you know there are all sorts of people (men - okay, I don't know they're ALL men, but mostly men) in various state and local governments currently pushing laws regarding contraception, abortion, and coverage of women's medical services when it comes to any part of her body that has even remotely to do with her reproductive system.

Truthfully, I've spent most of the last 2 months outraged and sad and shaking my fist at the TV because of it, and then I've found myself in a quiet despair of the future of humanity.

But maybe anger and sadness isn't going to be what turns the tide. Maybe humor and mocking those who make a mockery of the legal system might work. Heck, either that or I'm gonna have to start burning sage.

Or maybe I'm just on my period...

Singapore Has A Battlestar Galactica Roller Coaster? I Need To Go To Singapore NAO!

I'm gonna copy this directly from the site, because, frak me...it just sounds so cool.

Choose your side – HUMAN or CYLON - as you engage in the ultimate intergalactic battle between good and evil on the world's tallest dueling roller coasters!  Themed after the hit television series Battlestar Galactica, these spectacular, intertwined coasters offer a truly exhilarating adventure as you twist, turn and drop in an intense aerial dogfight.

Riders on both coasters will experience unbelievable thrills as they race towards each other and nearly collide!

Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN®
Zooming at speeds of 82.8 km/h, the HUMAN Viper Mark II is a seated coaster that propels you 14 storeys into the air while pursuing your enemy

Battlestar Galactica: CYLON®The CYLON Raider is a suspended roller coaster that will turn your world upside down as it runs through a vertical loop, corkscrew and cobra roll.

Seriously, I need to get to Singapore. Like, today.

Found this thanks to a friend on FB. Thanks Dave! Have to share it because, truthfully, it's what happy looks like in my head.

And if it's been all over and you've seen it, then forgive me being late. I just saw it and I'm too busy grinning to care ;-)

Win a DVD Copy of Season 1 of BBC's "The Fades".

Why am I doing this? Well...

When the BBC asks you if you'd like to have 2 copies of a show to give away, you say "Yes!".

If you haven't seen the show yet or you're already a fan, you now have the chance to win the Season 1 DVD.  Just tweet or FB the following by February 29th (I love being able to do this on a Leap Year):

Hey @geekgirldiva, I want season 1 of The Fades from @BBCAmerica. Hook me up! http://bit.ly/bbcfades

That's it. I'll take it from there.

Check out more info about The Fades here.

Synopsis:

The Fades is a new supernatural horror series by 2011 Royal Television Society Award-winning writer Jack Thorne (the original UK Skins). Iain De Caestecker (Coronation Street) is Paul, a young man who is haunted by apocalyptic dreams that neither his therapist nor his best friend, Mac (Daniel Kaluuya, Skins, Sucker Punch), can provide answers for. Worse still, Paul has started seeing the Fades – the spirits of the dead – all around him. They're everywhere but normally can't be seen, heard or touched – until now. An embittered and vengeful Fade has found a way to break the barrier between the dead and the living. and Paul, Mac and their loved ones find themselves in the middle of it all. The worst is only yet to come as the fate of humanity rests in the hands of the two friends who already have enough trouble getting through a day in one piece, let alone saving the world.

Quiet? Me?

Writing wise, yes. For a few reasons, I think.

There's a lot going on in the world and, maybe it's the political season -- maybe it's just the nature of communication as we know it -- but I just don't feel like adding my voice to the "din".

It feels like everyone has something to say about everything and, the louder it gets, the more inclined I am to just sit back and stay quiet.

In hopes of hearing something within all of the white noise.

So, just an update.
