I don't know whether to be amused, flattered, confused or worried about the new incoming referral traffic to the blog.

Apparently someone at Adult Friend Finder is sending people this way via bit.ly and tiny.url links. However, I can't figure out how, so I don't know why.

I do know that I feel like I'm letting down the people who click over. I mean, yeah, I'm an adult and I have a pretty nice rack, but it's not like I'm looking for someone to take long, sex swing shopping walks with in the moonlight.

For the record, if you're one of the people who found me via that site, while I'm sorry I'm not the hot, sexy, morally ambiguous...

Oh, wait. I am that.

Okay, how about this -- I'm not nekkid or looking to get nekkid with people I met on the internet.

Well, unless you play DnD and it's some sort of drunken party campaign at Gencon.

The Jetta Ad, Gene Kelly, NPR, Bill Prady and Inception. My train of thought scares even me

I wanted to add a thought or two about the Jetta ad with Gene Kelly, since I saw a little traffic heading my way from NPR on a post that wasn't happy about the ad. For that matter, she and Bill Prady had a talk about it.

When Linda Holmes of NPR linked to my original post, she mentioned I was a fan of the ad. ::grin:: But I want to clarify something. I'm a fan of the ad because it featured Gene Kelly and Donald O'Connor and because it's so easy in this day and age of Step Up 3D to forget their kind of dancing. (Not to mention things like numbers being shot in one take and the like)

Yes, it's not the best quality and it looks funky. But it's also a 30 second commercial and -- let's be fair -- it looks like art compared to a Head On commercial.

There are people who saw Inception and had no idea that effects there date back to Fred Astaire and Royal Wedding. I knew and I was doubly charmed by the sequence. But many people didn't and, in a way, that's a shame.

In my mind, if a commercial like this leads someone to the internet to search it, and then they find the original and then they find Summer Stock and the newspaper dance and then they find Fred Astaire and then they find...

Well, you see where I'm going. ::grin::

I laughed hard enough at this that I had to hit my inhaler afterwards to keep from dying.

Ted Williams Goes Into Rehab And It's Our Fault (Rant)

When I first saw the video of Ted Williams and saw the response on the internet, I was touched like a lot of people were. It's cool to see someone given a little help in this day and age and, if a video could help get him a job and maybe back on his feet, that would be awesome.

But by day two, I was worried. Because the internet and the media just seemed to grab a hold of the man and I had a feeling that things were going to go very, very wrong.

It didn't take long. Buzzfeed linked an article today that Ted Williams is checking into rehab.

Gee. You take a man from the streets. A man who likely had issues in his life that left him homeless and estranged from his family -- and you shove all sorts of things in his face. You make him an overnight sensation and you interview him everywhere and you even get him on Doctor Phil and you wonder why he can't handle it.

Not to mention, no one seems to have any issue with filming the meltdown in progress. Entertainment Tonight just ate it up. And the comments to the posts are sickening. It's like people think he let them down or something.

It bothers me.

Because it's all well and good that everyone jumped on this guy's story when it was a feel good moment. But will anyone take responsibility for being part of the cause of his "fall from grace"?

Something tells me that's not a story anyone's gonna cover.

A Star Wars La Loteria Game -- Just What I Need

For some reason, I had a memory the other day of being a kid and playing La Loteria with my friend and her family.  If you've never played, think bingo, but with a Spanish twist and pictures.

One of the things that I always loved about the game was the art itself. But Chepo Peña may have just created a La Loteria game that I love more than the original.

This is the Space Loteria and, as you can see, it's Star Wars awesome.

It's definitely worth checking out the site and looking at each card individually.

I wonder if Chepo minds if I still play using pinto beans. It's sorta tradition.

It's the middle of the night...

...and I was sitting here thinking about how well V: The Final Battle actually still holds up.

Sure, some of it is dated -- but for the most part, it's still pretty darn good.

I have more thoughts on this, but it's the middle of the night.
