You know I have a habit of being all "rawr' when it comes to people who don't believe geek girls exist.
You know I love San Diego Comic Con.
You know I think geeks in general are awesome, but often misunderstood.
But did you know there's a documentary in the works that combines all of the above and, if it's done right, may go a long way towards giving people a better understanding into the geekier side of life, ladies and con life.
Did you know they have a twitter account?
According to the website...
Oscar®-nominated filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, producer Thomas Tull, comic book icon Stan Lee, writer/producer Joss Whedon, and film guru Harry Knowles have joined together to bring audiences the feature-length documentary COMIC-CON® EPISODE FOUR: A FANS HOPE - a documentary celebration of all things con-tastic!
We are looking to cast original, eccentric, funny, touching, and mildly obsessive people that will capture the excitement, enthusiasm, joy, and passion of comic book, anime, sci-fi, and fantasy lovers everywhere.
Okay, so will I admit that I'm a little nervous that it may end up making some of us geeks look a little...odd? Yeah. But there are enough geek friendly folks involved here that I actually think it may be more help than hurt.
If nothing else, I'm going to write my email. Why not?
Heck, what do any of us have to lose?
::grin:: And before you say "my self respect", just try and remember you'll probably be wearing a mask or cape at the show and running through the halls like the rest of us, so how much self respect do you have anyway?
Yeah, I went there. ;p
Go on. ::push:: Show off your geek.
